How many years does it take to become a pharmacist?
5 to 8 years.
It takes 5 to 8 years for a high school graduate in the United States to become a licensed pharmacist. This is according to the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. This entails at least 2 years of undergraduate study to fulfill prerequisites, 4 years of pharmacy school, and then taking the pharmacy licensure exams. There are some pharmacy schools that offer an accelerated 3-year course with little breaks for summer and the holidays.
