Number of volcanic eruptions per year
How many volcanic eruptions per year are there?
What is an eruption? Well, an eruption represents the arrival of volcanic products at the surface of the Earth or other planetary bodies. Approximately 60 volcanoes erupt each year. Not too many people know that some volcanoes are in constant activity: Stromboli, Kilauea, or Sakurajima. It is also interesting to know that the average volcano erupts about one time every 100 years. Keep in mind that approximately 75,000 years ago, the volcano Toba, in Indonesia, had the largest volcanic eruption ever known.
