How many valence electrons are there in Helium?

2

It is widely known the fact that in chemistry, a valence electron is an electron that is associated with an atom, and that can participate in the formation of a chemical bond.  Not too many people know that Helium (He) has two valence electrons. The most interesting part about Helium is that it is the only noble gas to have two valence electrons. Believe it or not, all other noble gases have eight valence electrons.
