Number of rivers in Spain

How many rivers are there in Spain?

1800

It is important to know that there are about 1,800 rivers in Spain.  Not too many people know that many of them are dry for much of the year.  It is important to know that their reservoirs provide significant water and electrical power for the country.  Keep in mind that some of the Ebro’s water was distributed to the parched communities of Valencia, Murcia and Almería, in the south.  The Duero takes the opposite direction of the Ebro.  It is interesting to know that the Tagus represents the largest river in the Iberian Peninsula.
