Not too many people know the fact that the Medal of Honor was created during the American Civil War.  The main idea is that it is the highest military decoration presented by the United States of America government to a member of its armed forces.  119 persons received the Medal of Honor during World War I and 464 people received the Medal of Honor during World War II.  It is important to know that most of the cases, the Medal of Honor is presented posthumously.
