How many Japanese Americans were sent to Internment Camps?
70,000.
Of the 120,000 Japanese Americans and Japanese who were obliged to abandon their homes by the US government in 1942, 10,000 left voluntarily, thus avoiding internment. The other 110,000 people were sent to internment camps (or relocation centers); among them, over 70,000 were Japanese Americans (US citizens).
