Number of Holocaust Survivors

How many Holocaust survivors were alive after 1945?

Approximately 6,500,000 people

According to a mathematical method of Barrington James, the estimated number of Holocaust survivors immediately after the war in 1945 is 6,540,000 people. This number does not just include the Jews, but also those citizens of the countries that the Nazis occupied. However, in another report from the Israeli Prime Minister’s office dated August 1997, the estimated number of Holocaust survivors still alive worldwide ranged between 834,000 to 960,000 people.

This fact is verified on : April 24, 2010.

  1. That is the most ridiculous claim I have ever heard.
Pensions paid by Germany to the survivors of the Concentration Camps are 66,000 people.
And some are under review for fraud.

    • Another fool who has his/her head in the sand. You think that the survivors would want the Germans to know who they are? Fear was one thing they instilled. Get a grip on realty. If the facts were really known, it would probably be more than is stated.
