How many full moons are there in a year?
Between 12 and 13.
There are between 12 and 13 full moons in a year. This is because the full moon occurs at about every 29 to 30 days in the lunar cycle. On rare occasions when there is an extra full moon, which occurs every 2 to 3 years, a phenomenon called the ‘œblue moon’ occurs.
