How many eyes does a bee have?


A bee has 5 eyes, which consists of 2 large compound eyes on either side of its head and 3 smaller simple eyes called ocelli that are arranged in a triangle on top of the head. Each compound eye consists of thousands of independent ommatidia, which are sensory columns responsible for delivering one pixel of an image.
