How many Eutherian species are there?

Over 4000 living species

It is important to know that there are over 4000 Eutherian living species.  Keep in mind that they are arranged in 18 orders.  Needless to say, another 12 orders are known only from fossils.  It is interesting to know that Eutheria includes primates, insectivores, bats, rodents, carnivores, elephants, ungulates, and whales.  It is widely known the fact that, like other mammals, Eutherians are generally fur-covered and produce milk to nourish their young.  Moreover, gestation time ranges from 20 days to 22 months (elephants).
