Number Of Calories Should I Eat
How many calories should I eat?
It depends on your height, weight and level of activity.
An accurate way to measure the recommended daily calorie intake would be to use the Harris-Benedict equation, which requires a person’â„¢s gender, weight, height, and age. The formula for daily caloric requirement is as follows:
|Little or no exercise||= BMR x 1.2|
|Light exercise (1-3 days/week)||= BMR x 1.375|
|Moderate exercise (3-5 days/week)||= BMR x 1.55|
|Heavy exercise (6-7 days/week)||= BMR x 1.725|
|Very heavy exercise (heavy workout 2x/day, daily)||= BMR x 1.9|
The BMR is calculated using the following formula:
|For men||= 66 + (6.23 x weight in lbs) + (12.7 x height in inches) – ( 6.76 x age in yrs)|
|For women||= 655 + (4.35 x weight in lbs) + (4.7 x height in inches) – ( 4.7 x age in yrs )|
