Number of Americans Unemployed
If the total number of people who lost their jobs since 2008, were combined with those who stopped looking for work, I believe the real unemployment numbers would be closer to 14%. Unfortunately, that will never be reported because it would disrupt the narrative about the economy getting better. The media and the White House claim that there are fewer people filing for unemployment. That can be explained easily. We are approaching the point where the minimum number of employed is being maintained by those companies that can still make a simple profit are doing so. That still leaves over 14% of the workforce unemployed.
