On average, one person consumes 78.5 grams of sugar each day. These figures were calculated based on the Food Consumption statistics issued by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Among the 175 countries listed on this research, Cuba and Egypt are the top sugar consumers, with 224g and 200g per person each day, respectively; on the direct opposite, in Rwanda and Burundi only 4 and 7 grams of sugar are consumed daily per person.
